◈ Evidence-informed pet health and care information for dogs, cats, and their humans.Source-checked • Updated when guidance changes

Editorial Policy

Our goal is useful, calm, verifiable pet-care information. We favor clarity over sensational headlines and usefulness over arbitrary word counts.

Source hierarchy

For health, nutrition, and safety topics we prefer original or high-authority sources such as veterinary colleges, professional veterinary organizations, FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine, CDC resources, peer-reviewed literature where appropriate, and established veterinary manuals.

Authorship and review

Articles are attributed to our editorial team unless a named specialist has actually contributed or reviewed the page. We do not create fictional veterinarians, credentials, clinics, tests, or first-hand experiences.

Use of drafting tools

Research and drafting tools may assist with outlining and initial language. A page is published only after editorial review for structure, unsupported claims, source quality, internal consistency, and whether the content clearly distinguishes education from diagnosis.

Updates

We update pages when recommendations, regulatory information, or source material materially changes. We do not change dates merely to make an unchanged page appear fresh.

Corrections

Material factual errors are corrected promptly. If you see a problem, please contact us and include the URL and the specific statement in question.
